Hi, I’m Charlie Donaldson, and I’ve spent the last decade helping families make smarter decisions about college costs.
From 2012 to 2018, I ran a college funding and niche financial planning business focused on helping parents structure their finances for maximum aid eligibility. The work was rewarding, but over time I saw the industry shift toward high-pressure sales and product-first pitches. That never sat right with me. Families needed guidance, not a hard sell, so I chose to step away and rebuild the kind of resource I wished existed all along: one built on clarity, not commissions.
I hold both a Bachelor of Science in Finance and an MBA with a concentration in Finance, and for four years (2016–2018) I taught Finance and Economics at Wilmington University. That experience cemented my belief that real financial education, especially around college, can change the trajectory of a family’s future.
At home, I’m not just teaching theory; I’m living this journey alongside my own kids.
Our family spans college, high school, and elementary ages, which means we’re experiencing every stage of the education process at once, from choosing the right high school programs to comparing college costs and planning future careers.
